Meet the team
Our five chiropractors have been part of the Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic team for many years, committed to their patients and our clinic ethos of aiming to delight every patient and help them to reach their health goals.
Jo McCarey, the founder of Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic, graduated with distinction from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1995 and was honoured to be named that year’s best academic student and best clinician as well as Valor Dictorian. Jo initially opened the Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic within the Borough Lane GP Surgery in Saffron Walden in 2001, and moved it to its present home at First floor 13, Hill Street, Saffron Walden in 2004. She considers herself very fortunate to have found a career which she is extremely passionate about. She loves meeting and working with people and making a difference to their lives.
Her special interest lies in Chiropractic care for pregnant women, babies and children. Completing post graduate courses each year to further her expertise she helps expectant mums stay active and comfortable during their pregnancies and helps them prepare their bodies for labour. Treating unsettled babies has become the mainstay of her work in recent years, particularly those who have had difficult births. Her aim is to help mothers and babies to have the best start they can. She is passionate about treating children and recommends Chiropractic sessions early in childhood, preferably from birth. She believes this may help to identify musculoskeletal pain in childhood leading into adulthood. She also believes that by having a healthy functioning spine and cranium, children may benefit generally in a variety of ways.
Jo also enjoys working with patients with long standing chronic conditions, when Chiropractic care is often the last resort. She finds that making a difference in this group of people’s lives is an extremely worthwhile way to spend her time.
Adrian Collingwood has been interested in complementary healthcare from an early age having grown up in a family where it was widely used. This fostered an interest in manipulative therapy and specifically Chiropractic care having witnessed first-hand how it benefits the human body. Adrian joined the Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic in 2003 after graduating from the University of Surrey with a Masters degree in Chiropractic. As well as the diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal conditions he has a specific interest and experience in treating neck pain and headaches. Adrian looks forward to meeting you at Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic.

Ellinor Boardman graduated with a Masters degree in Chiropractic from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic and has worked at the Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic since 2007.
Her main focus is on the diagnosis, treatment and ultimately prevention of dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system. Her aim is to tailor treatment, advice and rehabilitation to the individual patients’ goals and needs. She has a special interest in sports performance, injury prevention through correction of movement patterns and muscle imbalance, and rehabilitation of existing conditions and has undertaken many post graduate courses on this subject. She understands the expectations and requirements of athletes of all levels and disciplines.
Ellinor is also passionate about using these skills to help patients of all ages to have a better understanding and control over existing or chronic injury, and to improve posture and joint function to prevent injury and optimise musculoskeletal function. She especially enjoys treating pregnant ladies to optimise comfort during pregnancy and children from newborns onwards with gentle techniques to help children develop good movement patterns from early on.
In addition to this Ellinor has a lot of experience and understanding of Equestrian activities and the biomechanics of horse and rider which can help improve a rider’s seat, posture and comfort whilst riding by evaluating and correcting any musculoskeletal imbalances.
Jeremy Evans completed his Masters degree in Chiropractic in 2004 at the University of Surrey, Guildford. He has worked at Saffron Walden Chiropractic Clinic ever since. He treats back and neck pain as well as having a specific interest in extremities such as shoulder, elbow and wrist, as well as hip, knee and foot dysfunction.
Jeremy is also interested in the Psychology of Health. He believes that how we live has a substantial effect on our health. Our level of happiness, physical energy, strength and flexibility, and our daily diet and working life all have an effect on both long and short-term well-being. He recommends that by making good choices every day we can make a real difference to how healthy we are for now and in the future. He believes that Chiropractic care is part of that drug-free, prevention-first solution; with a musculoskeletal system working as well as it can, injury is more easily avoided and general good health more easily maintained.
After lifelong participation in sport, Jamie found a natural pathway into Chiropractic as a related career. He soon realised, however, that Chiropractic had far more to offer. Through quality Chiropractic care, and helping people to improve the way they eat, move and think, he became passionate about helping people of all ages and backgrounds to significantly improve their health.
Jamie graduated in 2015 with distinction from the AECC, and has worked in a number of different practices and places including London, one of the largest chiropractic wellness centres in the UK in Surrey and in a ski resort in Austria. During this time, he has become proficient in helping people with a wide range of spinal and non-spinal issues, but is particularly interested in treating neck, low back and pelvic complaints, alongside lifestyle interventions to get to the root cause of health problems.
Jamie is an easy going and friendly individual who is passionate about helping you to achieve your health goals.
